For urgent matters, please call anytime, preferably before 11am when it is easier to get through for urgent concerns.

Reception is staffed in the evenings until 18:30 although doors will be closed at 18:00, unless there are Enhanced Access appointments that evening.

Enhanced Access appointments for non-urgent matters are available on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, as well as on some Saturday mornings. Please ring to be advised of times and locations. Training Afternoons

Our staff have four half-days specifically allocated for practice whole-staff or PCN-wide training. This is essential to maintain high-quality up-to-date healthcare services for our patients.

2024 dates are as follows:

5th March | 15th May | 16th July | 11th September

All practices will close at 12.30pm on those dates, and a full out-of-hours service takes over by phoning the usual practice number. Hatherleigh Dispensary will be closed on those afternoons. On-site pharmacies at Holsworthy & Stratton will remain open.

HATHERLEIGH MEDICAL CENTRE

Our Partner GPs, along with other clinicians, are now providing GP sessions at Hatherleigh throughout the week. The appointments are usually, but not exclusively, in the morning. Please call 01409 253692 after 11am to be advised of availability.

THURSDAY 20th JUNE

It is with great sadness that we inform you that our wonderful colleague, and brilliant nurse, Di Goodhead passed away at the end of May. Di worked at the original Hatherleigh Practice, as well as at the current one, with many patients having benefitted from her excellent nursing care, quiet understanding and gentle listening ear. Despite her illness, Di continued to work until quite recently—a testament to her love of nursing and the community she worked in.

As a mark of respect we will be closing Hatherleigh Medical Centre all day on Thursday 20th June to allow staff to attend a service of remembrance. We will miss a much-valued colleague and friend. Sending our sincere condolences to her husband and family, and thanking them for allowing us to share this sad news.

If you wish to make a charity donation in memory of Di, there is a collection box at Hatherleigh reception.

If you need medical advice and direction when our Hatherleigh practice is closed on 20th June, please call 01409 253692 as normal. Holsworthy Medical Centre and Stratton Medical Centre will remain open, although there will be a reduced nursing staff on that day.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hatherleigh
